You are invited to join and contribute during the Open Data for Development Camp 2012 on the 29th of June in Amsterdam.

It will take place in the AmLab in Amsterdam and will be a combination of Keynote Speakers, Workshops, Best Practices, Networking, Exchange of knowledge and needs, Open Data Visualizations, and Inspiration.

The kick-off of the Open Data for Development Camp (ODDC) will be in Nairobi, on the 27th of June. The Nairobi ODDC is a two-day conference that will connect on-the-ground initiatives on open data and citizen engagement in development initiatives.

There will be an online roundup on the 29th of June that will serve as input for the Amsterdam event, where the discussion, presentations and work on Open Data for Development will continue. Representatives from the Dutch development sector (management, learning and knowledge officers and ICT-staff) are welcomed, as well as other people (journalists, developers etc.) working in the area of open data and / or development cooperation.

Following the Open Data for Development Camp 2011, this year we will focus on:

  • Open Data and IATI: what is it and what could it mean for development cooperation?
  •  International developments in the area of open development: such as open data, new business models, opportunities in communication and networking
  • What does it mean for your organization when you open up?

The programme will be interactive, with guest speakers and open data specialists such as from the IATI secretariat, DFID, Bond UK and the Aids Alliance about the UK NGO experiences in publishing their data in the open standard format.

We aim to conclude the event by formulating a shared ambition on Open Data for Development, ànd will present the Manifesto Open for Change. Will you join us?

We are looking forward to see you on the 29th!

The Open Data for Development Camp Amsterdam is organized by Open for Change, Partos, Akvo, 1%CLUB and IICD.
